Here is my promised update. So far I am 13 days into this Quilt Along with Gnomeangel and I have been able to keep up. I am finally in a rhythm and am liking that I am sewing even just a bit every day. I have daily posts of my blocks on my Instagram account and when I am all done I will be adding them to my Pinterest account.
I did choose to have my book Tula Pink’s City Planner 100 Modern Quilt Blocks spiral bond at my local FedEX store. Boy, am I glad that I did. I was really needing those pages to lay open and flat. The best seven dollars that I spent 🙂 . Bonus is I can use it again and again and not ruin the book. (I love my books very much….)
I have chosen to use Tim Holtz Eclectic with Moda’s Basic Grey Grunge Jellyroll. What a beautiful combination. I am so excited to see this grow. I would like to finish my blocks off in the City Planner layout with Grunge Fabric as my background and backing.
I am so glad that I took this challenge upon myself. It has allowed me to grow as a quilter and sewer. You can never learn enough or practice enough. I have found these 6 1/2″ ( unfinished) blocks to be very challenging. In that, I NEED to slow down and just breath. I did not realize that I am a fast piecer and that is not always a good thing. Breath and allow yourself to enjoy all of the steps in the process. I hope at the end of these 100 days, I can look back on my piecing and see an improvement.
Until next time……………Enjoy the small things.
