February’s Goal Met

I remember when I was little…I wanted time to go by faster. I was one of those kids who loved school and couldn’t wait for school to start. I know there were so many times when I would ask my mom when was summer over.

Don’t get me wrong, I was a water baby and loved Summer! But there were times when it seemed so long. Mom would always tell me ” to enjoy the time I had because when I got older time would go faster!” That always seemed so funny to me. How was it possible? Why would that happen?

Well here I am to utter those words…..mom was right!!😄

How does it happen that time goes by so quickly. This month has been full of wonderful things and some not so wonderful things. I did complete my goal. You can read more about what goal I set and why here.

I am happy to share with ElmStreetQuilts my finished project.

I am very happy with how this has turned out. I am not going to put a border on, I think the binding will finish it out just fine. This finishes at 35.5″ x 37.5″.

I was making good progress and put it on my machine ready to quilt up. Which is further along then I actually thought I would be at this point (happy dance).

And there it is today. I had to put it to the back burner whilst I took on a important commission. I made that delivery yesterday, so I am hoping to get this quilted today.

I am really very happy with this progress. I did a lot this month: secret sewing, three Blocks of the Month, a swap finish up, a large commission, two Sew Along’s and started a new hexie swap this month. Not to say that I did not do other things in my non sewing world.  It always surprises me what I can accomplish when I am just sewing in those pockets of time that I might otherwise not have. Ten minutes here and there really do add up. I found that sewing a few stitches while cooking meals really was found time. I also find that if I had things prepped and pre cut out: then things went faster when I did sit down to sew.

What tips and tricks do you do, to find that little bit of time to sew?? I love learning new things that allow me to enjoy my creativity. Making is in my blood: I would not know what to do without that ability.

Now to shift gears and think about what I would like to finish next. I have so many WIP/UFO’s to choose from. I have time to think about it for now. I hop that you will come and check out what I have decided.

Until next time………….Go Make!!
