The Splendid Sampler II……..

Did I tell you, I love Sew Alongs! Here is another one……The Splendid Sampler II hosted by Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson started June 14, 2018. They will release a free block pattern each week for the duration of the sew along. You can order the book here.  I missed the first Splendid Sampler sew along, so was very excited to jump in on the second round!

I have decided to use my scraps from Essentially Yours and Essential Dots by Moda. I am crossing my fingers that I will have enough to finish out this Sew Along.

I love the soft colors of these fabrics. I also just realized that I haven’t made anything recently with dots, so this will be fun. The first block is designed by Alex Veronelli, who is with Aurifil Threads, and named Quilt Market. I love the tiny strips!

I quickly cut my strips out and started to chain piece them together. I am using my edge guide to make sure that my quarter of an inch is consistent.  Especially on these tiny strips. I found the instructions super easy to follow and could see making more of these as a one block quilt. When I was done making my block, I stood looking at my pile of beautiful scraps, wondering what I could make with them.

Thinking Face on Google

I decided to make a 4.5″ version of the same block. So here is my finished Quilt Market Bock and it’s mini Version.

I hope you like this version of the block as much as I do and remember it is never to late to join in.

Until next time……………….Seize the moment.
