I had a Wonderful Day. We went to the Wenatchee Maker Faire; I can see you scratching your head asking “What is a Maker?” This is straight off their pamphlet. “A Maker is a person or group that displays their project or talent at a Maker Faire in the form of a booth, exhibit, performance, and/or workshop. A Maker is essentially any individual, group, or organization that has a passion to create!” There was a great turn out of Makers and those who wanted to learn a thing or two about them.
I had so much fun talking with the different Makers. What I really enjoyed seeing was that there was so many young Makers; from Drones to Raspberry PI’s, they knew their stuff. There were several 3D Printers represented from the Micro 3D Printer- M3D to the Ultimaker brought in by NCRL (North Central Regional Library).
The Wenatchee Schools got in on the action as well. Here are a couple of examples…..
There were so many great exhibits. I am going to put just a few more in the post then you will have to look at the Gallery. I will put the rest of my photos there. I was impressed to see the other end of the spectrum there as well. I was able to meet a wonderful Fiber Artist, Kasey Koski. Here is a very special picture of her in front of a wonderful piece. This finger print is her late brother’s. What a wonderful way of honoring his memory, I was very inspired by our conversation. If you get a chance you really should go and check her out on FB.
Well, I hope this has inspired you to think about your own hobbies in a different way. I would bet that you are a Maker. If you like creating, building, teaching others to build…..yeppers you are a Maker my friend. I hope that you find the time to look at the rest of the photos in the Gallery; it will be worth it. I only wished I had photos of the Ham Radio Table…..but it was so busy there every time we tried to get close. So you know the interest was there and they were learning a ton of information. Until next time………Make, Create, Build to your hearts content.
