I have found myself completely immersed in Instagram swaps and finding it to be a wonderful outlet for my creative energies. I have made new IG friends and it so reminds me of my childhood pen pals. In that I am staying in touch through snail mail and Private messages. We are growing friendships internationally and I find that to be ever so wonderful.
As Fall is coming upon us, I am looking at my list of “to Do’s” and UFO’s/WIP…..and I am asking myself : “Where did I deviate from the path I had so clearly set for myself at the beginning of the year?” I laugh because I clearly know the answer…… having fun swapping and creating!! In seriousness though, I took a long look at my obligations and commitments; wondering how was I going to get it all done.
I have been seeing these Quilt Along (QAL’s) and Sew Along Events on Instagram ( seems like that is where I spend all my time 🙂 new toy 😉 ) and asked myself how can I use this to my advantage. I am driven by personal competition and work very well under pressure; so the idea of a daily post commitment kinda intrigued me. I have been seeing this one being hosted by @gnomeangel using Tula Pink’s City Sampler: 100 Modern Quilt Blocks. I have this book and it has been something that I have wanted to do for a very long time. I am going for it. I have my fingers crossed and am hoping that I can keep up. This might be a way to get some quilts done or at least started. I am hoping that a daily commitment gets me on a tighter schedule, one where I am more productive. I can struggle at times with time management working from home.
Until next time…………. trying new things is good!
