Where has the time gone?

I cannot believe how quickly time has gotten away from me. I remember the snow taking forever to melt and Spring coming so late. Then BAM it was Summer and the never ending smoke. I know that I told more then one person “This must be how a ham feels in the smoke house!” It literally was thick smoke all Summer long. When I did see the sun it was so bright and brilliant.

I know that I have been absent for a bit on here. For that I apologize. It seems like with the coming of Spring and Summer also came house repairs and outside chores. I had so many repairs that needed my attention. I was very over whelmed. I am responsible for the house and grounds plus normal household chores. My husband works very hard but is away most of the time. Just as I was getting that all under control I decided to redesign my website. Well, then came family obligations and a lot of other big changes. All of which took me away from home base more often then I would like it to have. Before I knew it the cold weather was here again.

I have been very productive in the sewing department but nothing is complete or finished. I feel really behind in my goals for the year. However, if I look at it differently, I can see just how my time was spent and I would not change that at all. Let’s see what can I show you….. I have put together some mosaics (mostly because I have just done a lot of blocks).

This is on my mid-arm to quilt. If you want to read more you can go HERE to my blog post where i talk about it more.

Hosted by @maureencracknell and @sharonhollanddesigns! My fabrics are Kona for the solids and my beautiful Kaffe Fassett fabrics from @qreativequilts! Thank you so much Kathy! Because of your gift this is going to be a amazing quilt!

Here is #the100dayproject. You do not need to adjust your glasses…….These are SUPER SIZED! 9.5″ x 8″ I used my 6″ fabrics from the #regionalfabricswap with Grunge fabric as the borders. I received so many beautiful fabrics I wanted them to shine.

Above are my 30 blocks out of the 52 in the 2017 Quilter’s Planner Sew along #52weekswithTheQuiltersPlanner . I feel like I did just fine. I wanted to do a certain size and did not need all the blocks. I used my winnings from Pat Bravo Design and recycled jeans!

#flannelladybugpinnieparade2017

I took part in a Pincushion Sew Along and I made it 27 days out of 31, I felt really good about that. 🙂

Some how in all my chaos I managed to make 11 Wheelchair Quilts to donate to my local Nursing Home.

I also did the  Tula Pink City Sampler Blocks again. This time around I used my Civil War scraps and I love how it looks.

Alright, after looking at this post, I am pretty darn proud of myself. There were a few misc. projects but if you want to see those just jump over to my Instagram and follow me there; I realize that this coming year will bring more changes and that is okay. I see that even in times of disharmony and discourse, I can still move forward in small increments and in the end I will actually have something. 🙂 I can see why our ancestors took every little stitch whenever they could. They knew that before no time they would have a finished project. I still have a couple of weeks in this year….hmmm I wonder what I can wrap up.

Until next time…………..count our blessing great and small!
